A Call to Daily Prayer

The Gate City House of Prayer was birthed in obedience to the word of the Lord. In November of 1999, the Lord called us to begin a season of morning prayer. During this time, meeting together to seek His face, the Lord made it clear that our commitment to morning prayer was to continue. We have continued this commitment to this day, growing deeper in prayer, more devoted to intimacy with the Father, fulfilling the call of 2 Corinthians 11:3, “the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.”

Each morning we meet from 6:30 – 7:30 a.m. and each evening we meet from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Our prayer room is located at 14 Franklin Street. Named after Count Zinzendorf’s estate which became a community for persecuted believers, Herrnhutt, means “the watch of the Lord.”

Fulfilling our Call as the Gate City

Our commitment to prayer is in fulfillment of the call sent forth in Isaiah 62:6: “On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the LORD, take no rest for yourselves.”

The Bible promises us that the Lord works on behalf of those who wait upon Him. Join us in dedication to seeking, knowing, and loving our God by joining us in prayer. May God richly bless you as you grow closer to Him.
